Shrewsbury, MA – July 2, 2024 – The Webster Water Ski Collective is proud to announce its upcoming Veterans Ski Clinic, taking place on July 10th at the Donahue Rowing Center in Shrewsbury. This special event, generously funded through grants from the US Department of Veterans Affairs via USA Water Ski, is designed to provide a day of fun and excitement for veterans of all ages and abilities, completely free of charge.

Event Details:

The Veterans Ski Clinic will offer a unique opportunity for veterans to experience the thrill of water skiing, with tailored support to accommodate all skill levels and physical abilities. As one of only 12 water ski teams nationwide selected to host this prestigious event in 2024, the Webster Water Ski Collective is dedicated to promoting adaptive sports and ensuring that disabled veterans can enjoy the freedom and joy of being out on the water.

The goal of the clinics is to provide veterans and service members an opportunity to improve their independence, well-being, and quality of life through adaptive water skiing. Each clinic host is prepared to welcome veterans with various disabilities, including spinal cord injuries, limb loss, vision impairment, and PTSD for a fun and safe day out on the water.

In addition to water skiing, attendees will be treated to a delicious catered BBQ lunch provided by Sir Loins Catering, and refreshing ice cream from Mr. Ice Guys Treats. This all-inclusive event promises a memorable day filled with camaraderie, adventure, and relaxation for our honored veterans.

“We are thrilled to host this Veterans Ski Clinic and to give back to those who have served our country,” said Ryan DesRoches, Director of Adaptive Skiing at the Webster Water Ski Collective. “Our goal is to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all veterans, fostering a sense of community and well-being through the power of adaptive sports.”

The event will run from 8:30am – 4pm, and the public is welcome to watch and cheer on the veterans as they ski.   For veterans interested in joining the clinic, space is limited, but they can register on the USA Water Ski’s veterans site at—shrewsbury–ma.
