Webster Water Ski Collective Selected to Host Free Learn-to-Ski Clinic for Disabled Veterans in Summer 2024
Webster, MA – 11/11/2023 — The Webster Water Ski Collective is proud to announce its selection as one of 14 water ski clubs across the nation chosen to host a special Learn-to-Ski clinic for disabled veterans in the summer of 2024. This initiative is made possible through a generous grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, facilitated by USA Water Ski.
The Webster Water Ski Collective is honored to contribute to the well-being and recreational opportunities for our nation’s heroes. This unique program aims to empower disabled veterans by introducing them to the thrilling world of water skiing, providing an avenue for both physical and mental rehabilitation through adaptive water sports.
The Learn-to-Ski clinic will take place in the summer of 2024, with the exact date and location to be announced in December. This event is part of a nationwide effort to recognize and express gratitude to our veterans for their sacrifices and service to the country. Interested veterans and their families can contact the Webster Water Ski Collective for more information at (774) 495-0165 or by emailing WebsterWaterSki@gmail.com.
“We are thrilled and deeply honored to have been chosen to host this special clinic for disabled veterans. Water skiing has the power to bring joy, freedom, and a sense of accomplishment, and we are excited to share these experiences with those who have served our country,” said Ryan DesRoches, Director of the Adaptive Ski Program at the Webster Water Ski Collective.
The grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, administered through USA Water Ski, will cover the cost of equipment, instructors, and other logistical elements to ensure that the Learn-to-Ski clinic is accessible to all participating veterans. This initiative aligns with the mission of both organizations to support the well-being of veterans and promote active, healthy lifestyles.
The Webster Water Ski Collective encourages veterans, their families, and the local community to join in this celebration of service and resilience. The event will feature not only the Learn-to-Ski clinic but also opportunities for community engagement, entertainment, and camaraderie.
