We want to thank everyone that came to our first annual Adaptive Ski Event at Point Breeze on Thursday. 24 skiers, with all kids of various disabilities got to go skiing for at least two turns during the event. We are still smiling and on a emotional high, and we can’t wait to do it again next year.
Lots of people to Thank for making this day happen – with the biggest thanks going to the LOF Adaptive Skiers for coming down, training our group and then helping us put on the event. We also had a ton of volunteers help out, from our crew, but as well as our neighbors and fellow skiers as well as the Webster Fire / Rescue and Webster Police Department
Multiple people in the community also helped, with a big thanks to our home base of Point Breeze for providing the lunches for the event. Lakeview Marine, Inc for providing the docks, and to all our sponsors for helping to cover our expenses – Webster Lake Gifts, Webster Lake Association – Massachusetts, Long Subaru, FTI Coach Lines, Foxy-Travel, Karen Michalson, Matco Tools, J&P Truck Repair, Snap-on Tools, Kiva Centers and numerous personal donations.
The donations went to cover our expenses, and also towards the purchase of our first sit-ski. In addition, an donation to the LOF Adaptive Skiers will be made in order to allow them to continue to do the amazing work that they do.
We are already planning for next year!
